Here’s Journal Club 10/22/21! Every week, I hold a JOURNAL CLUB. After filtering through the articles on the web, I present a few that impacted my life this week. Be safe and stay well!

  • You’ve probably heard the saying – “money can’t buy happiness.” However, the author of One Frugal Girl disagrees with that and believes that money can help us have fun and feel happy. Won’t you agree? Well, the author discusses the concept of “fun money” and shares tips to make room for some fun and excitement in our budget and our lives in the article –  What is Fun Money and How Much Do We Need?
  • Last week I came across a touching story on KevinMD by author Yoojin Na – an emergency physician. This piece talks about the prevalent yet silent struggles of young and experienced physicians alike that make them mentally and emotionally vulnerable at times. Here, the author shares an important message garnered through different life experiences in the article – We don’t have to be heroes.
  • Early retirement – words that you hear every so often are like a bag of mixed feelings. For some, it’s the freedom to pursue their life-long passion, while a handful “equate it to laziness.” Hearing a wide range of responses from different belief camps on this topic encouraged the author of Fire and Wide to dig deeper and explore what ‘work’ really meant in the article –  Early Retirement: How Do You Define Work Anyway?

That’s all for this week! I hope this week’s journal club was helpful.
